My first sighting of one in the wild. The LED lamps are.... interesting. It looked ok in my book. No pics, I was driving and didn't have time to figure out what I was looking at.

I live a few miles from Chyrco HQ and they've been everywhere the past couple months, mostly with M plates and fancy computers on the passenger seat. I even took an up-close look at one in a parking lot a couple weeks back, and my initial reaction from the first time I saw a picture remains the same... U-G-L-Y it ain't got no allaby it's fugly.

I saw them lined up at the Chrysler/Jeep dealer. Not... as bad as it could be... but not as good as the Grand Cherokee. It's not one of those cars that looks bad in pictures and great in real life, it just looks weird.

The 2014 Cherokee is nice, and for sure not the ugliest CUV/SUV ever (Nissan Murano, the last few years of the CRV...) Like the Grand Cherokee, and Durango the interior is top notch clean and simple, and the ZF DCT 9 speed is really nice. I mean this is a CUV you could buy with 4WD, and a decently powerful V6, for 26-30k and tow 4500lbs with. Not to mention you can get heated cloth seats, and a HEATED STEERING WHEEL. It really is a bargin/=.

also pro tip: If you're going to complain and say "all new cars look the same" don't complain equally when a company actually takes a risk and makes something new.

All that being said:

Dear America please stop buying ugly CUVs (they're all ugly) so Ford will sell a Fusion wagon here.

I saw one the other day. Front end still looks like a rancor to me.

I cannot agree more about the wagons. My wife and I had a discussion years ago about station wagons. She has a 98 CRV and has had it since 2001. My point was that unibody SUV's, crossovers and other vehicles based on a car platform are really just a station wagon with a different EPA classification. She didn't really like my point. Wagons are often more fuel efficient and less expensive than the crossover, oh wait, that is why they offer more crossovers.

Good point on the "all look the same." I'm glad that something looks different and someone is willing to take a chance. Nissan's Juke is different. I don't like it but appreciate that they tried something unique.
